Preaching on the Psalms

Pastors love to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, but how easy is it to do that from the book of Psalms?

If you preach on Psalms 2, 22, 23, 46, or 118 the pointers to Jesus may be straight-forward, but what about seeing Christ in Psalms 17, 28, 37, 44, 87, or 117? It’s not so clear-cut, is it?

That’s where Christ’s Psalms, Our Psalms – Study Resource can serve preachers well! This four-volume commentary was written by Reformed pastors with a special eye for showing how the Holy Spirit was pointing ahead to the coming Messiah in each and every psalm.

Every psalm is explained in its historical and canonical context but, along with that, the lines to the New Testament and the Saviour Jesus Christ are also explored and made clear. Pastors will be aided with a clear exegesis of the psalms in which key words are explained, the main message is summarized, connections to Christ are elaborated upon, and suggested application is outlined.

This set will help any Christian wanting to see Christ in the Psalms but preaching pastors will find it especially beneficial for their work.

Watch veteran pastor and preacher Richard Aasman, who contributed to the Study Resource, explain its benefits for pastors.
